Fred Kreuger was a child murderer, and when a rookie cop became suspicious of Fred‘s activities he broke into the Krueger house and utterly trashed the place looking for him, stumbling across Freddy’s hidden trophy room where he
kept scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings and such; afterward the cop rushed to the power plant where Fred worked, and brought him in. He was later released because of this cops mistakes and lack of following proceedure. As a result, the parents of Springwood tracked Fred down and burned him alive for revenge.
Fred “Freddy” came back to kill off the rest of the Springwood children in their dreams he is a disfigured dream stalker who uses a glove armed with razors to kill children and teenagers in their dreams, which ultimately results in their death in the real world. However, whenever he is dragged into the real world, he has normal human strength and vulnerability.
Being a long time fan of the Nightmare franchise I’m quite excited to see the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, it’s said to have gotten rid of Freddy‘s perverted and “funny” side making the film much more terrifying. Here is the official trailor of the remake.
